Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake was an American actress that appeared in several shows and films. The most prominent role she played was her character, Miss Kitty Russell on the TV show "Gunsmoke.' Also, she was known for the roles she played in shows on television like "The Red Skelton Show,' "Tattletales," and The Edge of Night. Alongside a myriad of films, she's also appeared in numerous television projects, including Stars In My Crown, Duchess of Idaho, ?Cattle Town ?TM, ?Miss Robin Crusoe , 'About Mrs. Leslie ? and le de France. ?The Adventures of Hajji Baba ?, a?High Society Blake, a former phone operator and animal lover, was devoted to animals. Together with husband Frank Gilbert, was one of the first people to successfully breed cheetahs in captivity. She co-founded along with Frank Gilbert, her husband of Arizona Animal Welfare League. Even as a board member of Humane Society of the United States Blake has an extensive history. Blake was awarded numerous awards and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Blake was also given the Courage Award by the American Cancer Society.
